Headaches
 |
Although there are
many causes of headaches ranging from chemical
imbalances to restricted blood flow, to poor posture,
clinical studies report that the majority of headaches
emanate from the neck. Disc irritation at any
level of the neck can cause a headache but it
is generally accepted that headaches are most
often referred pain from the upper three levels
in the neck. |

Our treatment for
headaches involves first a thorough evaluation
to identify the source of the headache. Often
treatment involves three levels of attack:
1) Muscle tension reduction (modalities, massage,
posture correction)
2) Restoration of normal joint mobility (home
exercises,
manipulation, traction)
3) Restoration of normal strength (multi-neck,
strength exercises) |

|
As is the case with
most spine pain, headaches are often treated very
rapidly and successfully with our techniques.
Sometimes this requires merely simple changes
in daily postures, light stretching and restoring
strength. As headaches can be very debilitating
and generally worsen if left untreated, early
intervention is critical for the best results.
