A classmate of his who was in the athletic training program at Boise State University encouraged him to have one of his team physicians assess him; he reluctantly agreed. The physical therapist made Brian promise to perform these seemingly silly exercises for 4 weeks before he passed judgment on whether or not they would provide benefit. After 3 weeks, he felt significantly better and returned to competition. "I was interested in health and fitness and wanted to be able to help others like physical therapy helped me.
