| Spondylolisthesis |
| |
|
Spondylolisthesis occurs when one vertebra
slips forward in relation to an adjacent vertebra, usually in the lumbar
spine. The symptoms that accompany a spondylolisthesis include pain in the
low back, thighs, and/or legs, muscle spasms, weakness, and/or tight hamstring
muscles. |
| |
|
|
| Treatments involves restoring proper mobility;
posture modification and training; and isolated strengthening of the surrounding
(corset) muscles of the spine. |

|
Physical therapy focused on restoring normal
flexibility and posture coupled with isolated trunk strengthening has been
shown effective in treating spondylolisthesis. |
