Cervical and lumbar traction have two primary benefits
in therapy.
1) With sufficient pull, actual separation of the vertebrae occurs which
relieves pain caused by pressure in the joints of the spine. In addition,
it can draw fluid back into the center of the disc which is beneficial in
bulging and herniated discs.
2) Over time, sustained traction results in relaxation of tight muscles. |
